What is an Enrolled Agent?

An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a person who may practice before the Internal Revenue Service. What does this mean? An EA can discuss and represent you on all matters relating to your rights, privileges, or liabilities under laws or regulations administered by the IRS.

The EA certificate is issued by the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service.

Attorneys or certified public accountants can also represent you before the IRS, however, not all attorneys or CPAs understand or have a working knowledge of tax law. For example, in the Dallas area, only a handful of attorneys handle tax law cases. We can handle your tax problem.

Regulation of an EA

The Treasury Department Circular 230 contains the regulations governing the recognition of those who may practice before the IRS.
